Peace Vs Dominance

It is without any doubt that one of the most important events or rather turning points in the life of Holy Prophet SWS was the famous Peace Treaty of Hudaibyah - it paved the way for an otherwise unattainable success years after it was signed. But a false analysis of it leads to a big misunderstanding that needs to be removed at all costs.

Apologetic thinkers (whom I shall not call as scholars) of Islam always refer to it in order to assertively suggest that we, Muslims, should seek lessons from it which means we, too, should subscribe wholly to the option of peaceful co-existence with the enemies of Islam.

They do not realize that this pact between Muslims & Quraish of Makkah was established when:

a) Muslims had already emerged as a dominant force in Madinah
b) After the Holy Prophet SWS had fought major battles/wars with the enemies of Islam

Today, just as we approach 2012, Muslims are the biggest losers and, thus, should seek guidance from the pre-Hudaibyah era of Islam in which intellectual & spiritual reform ALONE wasn't responsible for success - military confrontation too formed a considerable part of the package. Thus if we truly follow the Sunnah, we need to develop nuclear power because the Quran itself says:

"I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them" (8:12)

Thus Islam is neither unconditional Peace nor unconditional Dominance - Islam is Peace in a state of Dominance!

International Relations

It should be pointed out that the Prophet was not against seeking help from non-Muslims in principle. On several occasions he sought, and received, help from people who did not at that time accept his message or that he was Allah’s messenger. Several years before the battle of Uhud, the Prophet sought the support of Al-Mutim ibn Addi to enter Makkah safely after the failure of his mission in Taif. When he left Makkah to emigrate to Madinah, he employed Abdullah ibn Arqat as a guide to take him through unfamiliar routes. Later, when he was making preparations to fight the Battle of Hunain, the Prophet borrowed 100 shields of body armour and a large quantity of weapons from Safwan ibn Ummayyah. He also asked Ma’bad ibn Abu Ma’bad of the tribe of Khuza’ah to try to discourage the Quraish from attacking the Muslims at Hamra’ Al-Assad. None of these people was a Muslim at the time when their help was sought.

Yet when some of the Ansar put to the Prophet the proposition that they should ask their Jewish allies to fight alongside them in Battle of Uhud, he rejected outrightly, saying: “We do not need them. I do not seek help from a non-Muslim”. This case then needs to be considered in order to determine the cause of the Prophet’s attitude.

If one reviews these cases where the Prophet sought outside help, one finds that in none of them there was any question of compromise being asked or given with respect to any principle of Islam. Seeking help for the benefit of Muslim community is both acceptable and sound. The sort of help offered in these incidents was either technical expertise or armament or protection in case of defencelessness against an overpowering enemy. At no time did the Prophet seek advice or military support from non-believers because a) there can never be complete trust that they will be absolutely objective to help a religion in which they don’t believe b) their admission into an Islamic army constitutes an ever-present danger of their causing a split by withdrawing their support at any time, just as Abdullah ibn Ubbai did when he persuaded one third of Muslim army to desert, even before the Muslims reached the battlefield.

One should distinguish here between seeking help from non-believers and co-operation with a non-believer. Seeking help places Muslim in a weak position. The Muslims are thus the beneficiaries of such help while the non-believers stand to gain nothing from helping. Co-operation, on the other hand, signifies a situation where both parties benefit. The fact that the other party stands to benefit as well serves as a guarantee of its good intentions. Islam approves of such co-operation, provided that it is limited to the field where the benefit accruing to the Muslims should be greater than that accruing to the non-Muslims.

Pakistan: a Divine Product

It starts with 619 A.D when Muhammad SWS was tortured in Ta'aif but prayed that if there will be a single believer from Ta'aif, he shall never want it destroyed. History is witness to the fact that Muhammad Bin Qasim, in AD 712, established the first islamic state in subcontinent in the areas comprising modern day's Karachi to Multan.

Moreover, unbiased historians cannot ignore the spiritual vision of Jinnah (while in London) in which holy prophet (pbuh) advised him to go to the subcontinent as Muslims needed him badly.

Since many months, I have been trying to find a special book - I couldnt find it in Pakistan; it wasnt available in UK - it was only accessible via someone in USA.

By the Grace of Allah, I now have it in my hands - atleast it's first volume in a collection of 6.

Its an original commentary of our Holy Book in english but i can assure you its not just another tafseer of quran at all.

"Ascendant Quran: Realigning Man to the Divine Power Culture" by Muhammad. H. Al. Asi of ICIT (Institute of Contemporary Islamic Thought) in DC Washington is claimed to have done a ground breaking work in coming up with the right thing at the right time for the right kind of people.

From the Editor's Foreword & the Author's Preface, it clearly seems to be that kind of explanation of God's last message which serve 3 main purposes:

a) any comman man would be able to relate with it as if it was revealed in 2008
b) Intellectual food for thought for Muslim Think-Tanks
c) To awaken a sleeping ummah

Since I've just started reading it, I would highly recommend it to each & everyone of you!

The Dirtiest Game

There was a time when players, themselves, out of their own sheer personal corruption, used to lose to their opponents intentionally for the greed of very high money - this extremely bad act came to be known as "matchfixing" and sadly formed a horrible yet regular feature of sports in south asia.

Now that controversial scandal has reached a different level of reality altogether.

Big politicians put unbeatable pressure on the teams of their nation for personal gains because they are themselves pressurized by bigger politicians of stronger countries to the extent that a captain is threatened that his entire family would be killed if he wins the match.

I think that its highly possible that the recent cricket world cup semifinal between Pak-Ind may have been booked in advance.

American Flood

The Real Jinnah

I was never patriotic at all but since the day I started taking interest in my country due to purely islamic reasons, I wanted to know more about its first and greatest leader.

For most, he was anything but religious and for some he still remains a big mystery.

For people who are well-read, such issues belong to the past because they already know the inside story but for people like me to whom Jinnah was introduced only by school-books, it was very important to uncover his real face.

I am glad that (from a purely nuetral standpoint) after going through a proper critical analysis of his endeavours, speeches & letters, I have discovered that Jinnah was a true momin - an inferior modern version of Hazrat Umar - and thats no small compliment for any human.

There maybe a glimpse of Jinnah in Imran Khan but the later has a long way to go to reach there!

Catch 22

Mystical Technology

A delegation met a governor appointed by Umar RZA and said that one act if not done stops the flow of river Nile: "we grab a beautiful young boy, decorate him with good clothes, jewelry and throw him in the sea". The governor said: "Such things never happen. Islam destroyed all illiterate customs and superstitions of the past".

The river really stopped flowing & dried out. Such was the state that the tribes started moving to other places where they could find water.

The governor wrote to Umar RZA who said: "You did the right thing and said the truth that Islam demolishes the uneducated culture of past. I am sending a letter for you to put in the river Nile".

The governor opened the letter:

"From Umar, the worshipper of Allah to the river Nile: if you (O Nile) flow by your own will, then stop flowing but if Allah by his power keeps you flowing, then I (Umar) pray to the same Allah that He forces you to flow".

Next morning when people went to the river, it was flowing to its full and in one night, the level of water had reached much above the shore.

Power of Iman

During the Khilafat of Hazrat Umar RZA, once a heavy earthquake struck Madina. People suddenly started running away from their homes while shouting in anxiety.

Hazrat Umar took out his stick, beat the floor with it and said:

"O land of Madina, why do you shake like that? Hasn't Umar done justice on you?"

The earthquake stopped right there without harming a single home/person.

When, as related by Anas in Sahih Muslim, Gabriel came down and ripped Muhammad's chest open and took out the heart. He then extracted a blood-clot out of it and said: "That was the part of Satan in thee." And then he washed it with the water of Zamzam in a gold basin. After that the heart was joined together and restored to its place.

Hamza Yousaf has drawn some very interesting parallels between the miraculous first heart surgery of the Prophet and modern-day heart surgery. Angels, who performed it are made of light and today heart surgery is performed with the use or laser light. When the veins and arteries connecting the heart to the body are cut, the heart continues to beat for a while but will eventually die. In order to keep it alive, it is necessary to slow down its metabolism and in modern surgery this done by placing it in ice-cold saline (salty) water. Historically, Zamzam water had more salt content 1400 years ago as compared to today. According to Ibn Sa’d the water used by angels was ice-cold. Anas bin malik RZA saw the imprints of sutures in the middle of prophet’s chest - a hint towards the veracity of Islam!

Thus he is a highly complex/complicated man. On one hand, he is extremely soft & sweet when it comes to personal ego. On the other hand, he is very strict & harsh when it comes to the spread of evil in the society.

Due to his dual nature/behaviour, Secular Psychology or Western Psychiatry would label him as either abnormal or schizophrenic or split-personality disorder because spirituality is beyond their domain.

Umar Not Rumi

Rumi was a GREAT man - the kind of people who are born after ages or centuries rather than decades BUT Allah SWT did not send him to this world in the time of prophet pbuh. Why?

Because Allah knows which person to send where and at which point in time.

Rumi was a true sufi who talked only about Love, Peace, Tolerance, Brotherhood & Universal Humanity unconditionally because he was born in an era when Islam was already the dominant force and thus the world was in need of people who would inspire all sorts of human beings towards one message.

But Allah SWT chose Hazrat Umar for the mission of Holy Prophet because at that time the world was in need of people who could bring an Islamic Revolution when Muslims were totally on the loosing end.

We in 2011 are exactly in that stage of the game.

We should admit, confess and declare that, although with hikmah & far-sightedness, we have to fight the West because no one was more merciful/compassionate than the holy prophet and he too was forced to hold defensive wars when attacked by Kufaar.

For that we need 2 things: a) high iman b) nuclear bomb

Thus istac/iium is WRONG to hold conferences/meetings/talks on the message of Rumi instead of the Aggressive & Assertive attitude/personality of Hazrat Umar.

If it is a strategy, tactic or planning to fool the West then I totally agree with it but deep inside us we should all know that:

THE PROPHET SAID "IF THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A PROPHET AFTER ME IT WOULD HAVE BEEN UMAR", NOT RUMI!

Unity, Faith & Discipline

Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, has been criticised by many as a highly Westernized and Secularized man - I would not comment on that because people are much more knowledgable than me in such things.

But I can assure you that his 3 principles of success - "Unity, Faith & Discipline", if properly understood, are fully entirely Islamic values in essence and spirit.

Experiments were done on water by Japanese Scientists. Words were spoken to the water; the water was frozen, taken out and its crystals examined under microscope. Good words produced beautiful looking crystals whereas bad words produced ugly looking crystals. Thus water responded to words.

Human Body is 60-70% made of water.

If words have an effect on water and we are water to a considerable extent, then howcome zikr of Allah (the best word) wouldn't have any impact on us?

Thus the trick is to keep doing zikr!

Best Defination of State‏

No political thinker or ruler has described the function of a state better than Hazrat Umar when he said to his people:

"By God, the weakest among you will be the strongest in my eyes till I grant him his rights. The strongest among you will be the weakest till he abides by the law".

Another fascinating thing about Hazrat Umar is that although his name is written in history as one of the greatest conquerers ever, he didnt participate in the battlefield as Khalifa - he was the mind behind those victories but himself remained in Madina.

In 2010, President Obama spent 50 million dollars on the media of Pakistan so that it would project a good false image of America. But the same year proved to the worst for them. Why?

Dr. Afia Siddiqui, a brilliant gradaute of MIT, who had been tortured for so many years by the FBI without doing anything wrong at all, was finally supposed to be considered in court.

Our whole nation thought she would finally be set free. But guess what happened?

The Manhattan (NY) court imprisoned her for 80 years for nothing at all.

Her sister told the media that Holy Prophet pbuh met Afia in a spiritual vision in jail and consoled her after which she said had attained inner peace.

How pathetic & helpless we muslims are that we cannot do anything for our dear sister in islam.

This year's incident of Raymond Davis has aggravated the tensions 10 times more.

It is high time that we wake up.

But even the holy prophet could not do anything alone - even he needed Sahaba (companions) to do something big.

It is high-time that we Muslims of different countries forget our meaningless nationalistic & geographical boundaries and unite together once and for all in the cause of Islam as One Strong Ummah and confront the West face to face!

What is Ikhlaaq?

Outwardly they both are simply bitter experiences or hard circumstances but there are clear-cut differences between the two:

1. Punishment is for sinners whereas Trial is for the pious
2. Punishment is to teach people a harsh lesson whereas Trial is to elevate the ranks of people
3. After Punishment, people are even further away from God whereas after Trial people are even closer to God than before

Since we all go through -ve things in our lives, we should always evaluate and analyse as to which specific type does our case belong.

Another very important distinction is that between the vertical dimension (man-God) and the horizontal dimension (man-man) i.e between rights of God (huqooq-ul-Allah) & rights of people (huqooq-ul-ibad).

When the prophet Younus was stuck inside the body of a fish and was in utter despair, he uttered these famous words:

Inni Kunto Mina-Zalimeen (Indeed it is I who is among the culprits)

It raises a very important point - no matter how innocent, clean & pure we are with human beings, we are still, unconditionally, the guilty ones infront of Allah and that is real humility/humbleness (ijz).

However there are 2 things to be noted:

First, God will never put a weight on someone heavier than his limits because thats what the Quran says. Second, its a popular dialogue that is so true:
"What doesn't break you makes you stronger".

When we talk about Justice (insaaf) in this world, it is of a different kind altogether:

A) The input in horizontal plane may yield its output in the vertical plane OR input in vertical may yield output in horizontal i.e good/bad done in rights of God may give a +ve/-ve result in rights of people & vice versa e.g you missed the fajar prayers which is a sin infront of Allah not people but it is highly possible that someone does something terrible to you as a consequence of it according to the Divine workings.

B) Within the horizontal plane, the inputs & outputs may neither be at the same time nor within the same people. In simple words, if you do good/bad to a person A at time t1, you may get the reward/punishment from person B at time t2.

However there are 2 extreme kinds of people as well:

those who are so spiritual that Allah will give them all the reward in the Hereafter (this includes some prophets/sufis who got nothing in this world)
those who are so evil that Allah will give them all the punishment in the next world (people who face no calamity in this life inspite of sheer sinfulness)

But now I'll mention something very important that Hamza Yusuf once said in a lecture. There is a very famous book "Crime and punishment" which I have not read but I know the theme of it. It says that people get the punishment for what they do through their own conscience irrespective of whether they get caught or not. Similarly, on the other hand, people get inner satisfaction for the good whether they get anything else or not.

These things may not sound very intellectual in the theoretical world of Academia but carry importance beyond measure in the practical life of a Muslim!

Solution to all Problems

BECAUSE HE HAD THE MIND OF A GENIUS AND A HEART 1000 TIMES PURER THAN A SUFI.

THE PROBLEM WITH THE MODERN WORLD IS THE BIFURCATION OF THE TWO.

SOLUTION: COMBINATION OF THE TWO WITHIN THE SAME INDIVIDUALS.

Islamic Revolution

Even if 1 Muslim Country has Nuclear Weapons, it is a source of Blessing for the whole Ummah because it can threaten our enemies that if they become a hurdle or obstacle in the process of Islamization in any country, they would have to bear the consequences of it - that process starting from Pakistan is then applicable to all brother-nations.

There are 2 kinds of people:

who serve islam (e.g islamic university,madressas, tableeghi jamaat, Sufi Orders etc)
who themselves do not serve but atleast appreciate islam

People of category 1, instead of working seperately, should all unite and get together, form 1 political party and fully take part in elections.

People of category 2 should vote for them to increase their strength

To facilitate this process, religious people should come out of their slumber or hiding and make full use of all modern tools of communication to the extent it is possible in a secular state.

I have to 2 reasons to believe in its success:

If you add the number of people of category 1 & 2, they form a huge portion.
Allah's special assistance will definately be there.

Once in power and authority, then they can make full use of TV/Newspapers/Education Sector to infiltrate the people with their worldview.

The problem is that people working for islam are content with just the reward of hereafter - our prophet didnt teach us that attitude/approach at all - he practically brought results in this world.

Islam is not just about changing deeds/lives of people via intellectual/spiritual/preaching endeavours but establishing an islamic state/SYSTEM and eventually Khilafat - and that is what really scares the hell out of our enemies.

THIS IS THE ONLY REALISTIC METHOD!

Is Allah Raziq?

Thanks to Zionist Economic System & Secular Education, when we grow up we do not believe in our hearts that Allah is the Raziq (Sustainer) - we only say it with our tongues out of respect because its written in the Quran. But deep inside us we have all the faith and trust in either a Job or our family.

Last year, when I was planning to go to Egypt, I had no money at all; I stopped taking from dad long ago.

Thus I was left with no one to turn to other than Allah. I prayed to Him that if its in His Book, He should show it.

After few weeks, someone became a source of sufficient Rizq for me without any loss of respect or dignity at all.

Hence the answer: Yes He IS the Raziq and thus deserves our submission to the fullest!

No Salvation

The Jews believe in Antichrist (Dajaal) as their ultimate future hero who would come and establish their superiority over the rest of the world.

But they dont just sit around and wait for him.

They have worked & worked & worked and are still working day and night for his coming i.e they are intelligent and motivated enough to create that ideal stage for his appearance.

We Muslims believe in Imam Mehdi as our Saviour in the times to come.

But with the way we are progressing, I can assure you he will NEVER come.

We have to prove to God that we are worthy to be given an Iman Mehdi.

+ve side: Allah values it to the fullest

THE DILEMMA WITH THE MUSLIM UMMAH IS THAT EITHER THERE ARE THOSE WITH A LOT OF ENERGY WITHOUT IKHLAAS (SINCERITY/PURITY) OR THOSE WITH A LOT OF IKHLAAS WITHOUT ENERGY

When Iqbal gave his famous concept of Khudi (Selfhood) which was highly misunderstood and wrongly compared with Nietzsche's Superman, he was talking about exactly this problem!
